Newsweek magazine recently released a list of 2021 Best Nursing Homes, and Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, Georgia, received the prestigious honor.
Newsweek partnered with the respected global data research firm Statista Inc. to establish a ranking of “Best Nursing Homes” by analyzing data from over 10,000 nursing homes in the U.S. The 400 “best” nursing homes in the 20 most populous states are published in the report. Statista determined the Best Nursing Homes based on a combination of survey results from medical experts and data on staffing, health inspections and quality measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Out of the 20 states reviewed, each state had a differing number of Best Nursing Homes listed and ranked. They considered performance data from May 24, 2020, until Aug. 2, 2020, as well as peer recommendations. The data also took into account the facility’s handling of the COVID-19 threat.
Georgia had only seven Best Nursing Homes to make their meticulous list, with Union County Nursing Home being chosen as number six from the whole state.
“We’re extremely proud of our staff and facility. Being chosen as one of the Best Nursing Homes in the state as well as the country is an incredible honor,” said Union County Nursing Home Administrator, Lisa Bonham.
